The History of Goodale Flooring Inc

July 1,1976, I joined as a limited partner in a company called Valley Interiors. We were Painting and Flooring contractors at Edwards AFB at Edwards, California. I learned how to remove and install Vinyl Asbestos Tile and Wood Flooring. I also learned the trade of sanding and refinishing wood floors. In 1979, I became the project manager and in 1981 we decided not to bid the new contract for 1982, because of massive changes the Government had decided to place in the scope of work.

I took a job with the company that replaced us, but that didn’t last long. In 1986, I got my own contractor’s license and worked under my own name. In 1993, I changed my company name to Goodale Flooring and by this time in addition to wood and Vinyl Composition tile (the replacement for tile with asbestos in it) we were installing Carpet and sheet vinyl. In California, a C-15 (Flooring license) is limited to working in these areas of flooring. After our all-time busiest year ever,2001, I decided to incorporate. January 3, 2002 Goodale Flooring Inc. officially came into being. With me as President and my wife Barbara as Secretary. The company has always been small with not more than 9 employees at a time in our best years. Since the start of 2009 to date we have never had more than 5 and usually less. During these last eight years, we have traveled much longer distances for work than in the past. These trips were usually for previous customers or people who knew the quality of work that we do. Starting in 2010 we have traveled to Florida, Texas, Arizona twice, Idaho twice and many trips here in California of 100 miles each way or more.

Goodale Flooring Inc. has a very good name and we are referred by several of the oldest, largest and most respected flooring stores in our valley.
